Editorial Policy
Read CalcFlow's editorial policy and content standards for our blog and calculators — accuracy, transparency, honest limitations and sourcing.
Last reviewed: 2026-08.
Accuracy first
A calculator ships only when its arithmetic is correct, its formula is published, and a worked example produces the stated result. We test edge cases — zero rates, reversed dates, leap years and unreasonable inputs — so the tool never returns NaN or Infinity.
Transparency
- Every calculator page shows the formula, variable definitions and a worked example.
- Every page lists the assumptions and the limitations of the model.
- Every page carries a last-updated date so the currency of the figures is visible.
Honest limitations
We do not present estimates as guarantees. Finance, tax and health tools carry explicit disclaimers stating that results are informational and are not a substitute for professional advice.
Sourcing
Where a tool relies on external standards — government tax rules, health ranges, unit definitions — it links to authoritative primary sources such as US government agencies, recognised standards bodies and professional organisations.
