Methodology
Learn how CalcFlow calculators work, our accuracy standards, and how we build our tools — formulas, rounding rules and the editorial review process.

How each calculator is built
Every CalcFlow calculator is a pure arithmetic function with no side effects. The interface that draws the inputs and results is kept separate from the calculation, so the maths can be checked on its own. Each calculator page publishes the exact formula it uses, a worked example with realistic values, and a plain-language list of what the model does and does not account for.
Rounding and precision
- Currency results are rounded to two decimal places at the final display step only.
- Full precision is carried through intermediate steps to avoid compounding rounding errors.
- Unit conversions use exact factors where a definition exists.
Editorial review
A small editorial team reviews each calculator before publication and re-checks it periodically. Every page shows a last-updated date so you can see how current the figures and assumptions are.
